Number the Stars, Chapters 9-17

Well, I've finished this book, and here are my thoughts:

Although I did notice a lot in the first half of the book that it was aimed at younger viewers, the second half was much better. It ended on a positive note, and overall had a good ending.

I actually don't really have any other thoughts about this book.

I'll give the second half of this book a 4 1/2 star rating, giving it an overall rating of 4 stars.

Number the Stars, Chapters 1-8

Hello, dear readers! My current read is called Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. I am reading a physical copy of this book, and it is my first time reading this book. In fact, my 13 year old sister was saying how she loved this book and that I should read it and so I am...

This book stars ten-year-old Annemarie, living in 1943 Copenhagen. When the Jews of Denmark start being relocated, Annemarie's best friend Ellen moves in with the family and pretends to be one of them.

Honestly, this book is slightly under my reading level, it's a bit too basic for me. The story is fine, however I would prefer to be reading something aimed a bit more for my age.

Right now, I'll give this book a rating of 3 1/2 stars.

The Screwtape Letters, Chapters 16-31

    I've finished this book.

I must say, this book is so thought provoking and deep. Like, hugely so. This book will definitely be one that I revisit periodically. Honestly, this is a must read for every Christian. Although at points it can be tough, this book has so much value and you can learn so much from it. Marking up the book with highlighters was also extremely helpful to help me understand this book a little bit more.

I'll give the second half a rating of 5 stars, giving this book an overall rating of 5 stars.

Here's the Book Marking System I used:
Blue - Words worth remembering and sharing with others
Pink - People, places, numbers, and dates
Orange - Figures of speech (parallelism, similes, metaphors, alliteration, assonance) and stylistic devices (repetition, symbolism, etc.)
Green - Lists, questions, and clue words like ordinal numbers, and ordering words
Yellow - Meaning of long or complex sentences, and words to define

The Screwtape Letters, Chapters 1-15

My current read for school is The Screwtape Letters. I am reading a physical copy of this book, and I'm highlighting things as I read it. I'll put my highlighting chart below. I am reading this book for the first time.

The book is 'written' by the demon Screwtape, telling his nephew Wormwood how to tempt his 'patient', and ultimately bring him to Hell. So far, this book makes you think about how demons are tempting you in your own life. A very deep, and certainly necessary read. Actually, I'm finding this book very interesting but rather disturbing.

Right now, as I am halfway through this book, I am going to give it a rating of 5 stars.

Here's the Book Marking System I'm using:

The Angel and the Ring, Chapters 15-28

Well, I've finished reading this book.

It actually surprised me with a couple sudden plot twists that I wasn't expecting.

I think that this is supposed to be some kind of historical fiction, but I wonder just how much things that happened in the story happened in real life.

Anyways, not much else to write, I'll rate this second half 4 stars, making an overall rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
